And since, there's been no looking back.
Major modeling assignments, veejaying, movies and now theatre; hers has truly been an interesting journey...
How did modeling happen?Accidentally. I just landed up in the modeling world. I was lunching with my parents when I was spotted by photographer Shantanu Shorey. It just kicked off from their. After a very successful modelling career and the chartbuster music video, I was flooded with offers. You waited for quite a while for your debut in Grahan, which unfortunately didn't do too well at the BO. Do you regret when you look back?In retrospect, I blame it on bad planning from my side. Though I'm proud to be associated with the film, for it's script had a social message, the delay of four and a half years for the release, marred the brighter prospects for me. I had signed a contract with them and couldn't have taken up any other offers. Four years is a long period in an actress' life. But since I had taken up many modeling assignments then, I was not sitting idle at home. But like I said, I was too laidback then. I only wish I had been more serious about my work. I still don't have a personal secretary. I should hire one now. You did an item number in the movie Chameli. Are you not scared that you'll be labeled as an 'item girl'?It was a special number and not an item number. And it's like a cakewalk, when you're not part of the movie but still doing a special appearance. I'm glad that I did it. I also did special numbers in Tollywood films like Majnu and Hyderabad Nawabs. You were part of a reality show. Now, the controversy abuzz is that the show was scripted? It's false. When I agreed to be part of the show, I wasn't even aware of the other participants. Though it was a nasty experience, I can vouch that it was not scripted. Good, bad or embarrassing, it was me; and not a well-planned script. I'm not in touch with ‘any’ of the participants now.You have also been linked with Bikram Saluja and Mahesh Bhupati...That was years ago. I've some fond memories though, but let's bury the past. I can only say that I'm single. How was working in Hyderabad? After Mumbai, Hyderabad is the only city I call my home. I shot here for two films. I'm also a part of a theatre production 'Perfect Divorce' by Vandana Sajnani. I'm keen on working in Tollywood as well.
